Sign in to a site with your Ğ1 wallet
This service lets a website recognise you from your Ğ1 account. You sign a request in your wallet, and the site receives your identity name in the web of trust. There is no password to remember and no account to create.
No sign-in starts on this page. You arrive here from the site you want to sign in to, by clicking its Ğ1 button.
How a sign-in goes
- On the site, you click the Ğ1 sign-in button.
- A page opens your wallet, or shows a code to scan with your phone.
- You sign the request in the wallet, and the site signs you in.
Your private key never leaves your wallet. This service receives a one-time signature, valid for five minutes. Membership and the identity number are then read directly from the Ğ1 blockchain.
What the site learns
- Your Ğ1 identity name
- That identity's number on the chain
- Your public Ğ1 address
- Whether your identity is a member today
What it never learns
- Your private key or your recovery phrase
- A password: there is none
- Your email address
This service is reserved for members of the Ğ1 web of trust. A wallet with no identity, or whose identity is not a member, is refused.
